concept sketch
i never liked ‘rock’ type of superheroes like the Thing or geodude. Anyway i wanted to try my hand at designing a character which has a ‘rocky’ aesthetic but make him more interesting. basically he has the ability to synthesize carbon onto the surface of his skin. he breathes in carbon dioxide and filters the carbon and stores it in his bones, and respires oxygen. like a plant. maybe some time later he is able to control his powers so well that he can form nano diamonds or whatever. use your imagination :] (in a time where the effects on the ecosystem is an obvious factor in the things we do, more eco-friendly superheroes must be born :]. derp.)
designing a character with powers is one thing, i believe the personality is just as important, and the aesthetic of the character should be an extension of their personality. i won’t go into detail but hopefully by looking at his clothing you can see what type of ‘character’ he is, or just make it up. stereotyping is ok in a story imo, as long as you develop the characters well.
photoshop.
peace!
