self portrait study. acrylic paint

it’s been over a year since i touched real paints. To get back into it I did 3 loose alla prima studies on top of one another on the same canvas, going straight to the blocking of main shapes without a drawing. I have a lot to learn technically and will try to keep track of my progress. Even though i haven’t painted traditionally in a long time, i have noticed that i was able to apply the foundations of my drawing as well as my painting from digital into this process.

My website portfolio is currently a work in progress. i will most likely start a seperate blog on it where i will show my work in progresses and elobrate more on the thoughts of my process etc. I don’t intend to write long comments on this sketchblog, because i want to keep this as merely a journal where i can post anything and everything i want as a record of my exploration. But as it seems i am gaining a wider audience, which i am thankful for, i just felt the need to put this out there.
